State axes
Never one grand sequence. Each axis moves on its own, and the interface shows combinations. Applied is an execution state; verified is a verification state. A Case can be both approved and outcome-unknown at the same time.

Rules that follow
Axescompare is a representation, not a work state.Comparing does not resolve anything. The work state stays what it was.
INV-02Granted is not executed. Applied is not verified.Each step is its own state on its own axis, and each needs its own evidence.
INV-06A Case can hold a verified action and an outcome-unknown action at once.Showing only success or failure is a distortion.
INV-05stop-requested is not halted.The person asked; the executor has not confirmed. Work the remote side already accepted may still finish. Both facts are shown.
Uncertainty is not one number
Model confidence, agreement across sources, evidence sufficiency, freshness and verification are separate. Three agreeing sources may be copies of one stale record. A confident model may compare fields that mean different things. No confidence: 0.8 stands in for the epistemic state.
Numbers from a classifier may appear, as observations about the classifier: “the document classifier reported 0.71 for Invoice”. They are never the state of a claim.
